From Naples to Sorrento and Capri
Arriving via ferry from Naples the first view we had of Sorrento are of the etched cliffs. Some of the sturdy foundations and walkways built into the cliff face were constructed by the Romans. We walked through the town and took a cab to a winding road high over the town to our hotel. The rooms dangled over the edge of a cliff and we took an elevator down from the lobby. The view was pretty spectacular. This image at top is a view from the hotel room window.
Gelato Shop
We'd eaten alot of gelato in Italy, sometimes four times a day. When we wandered into this store after a hot day in Capri it was obviously worthy of a photograph. The gelato was exquisitely delicious and the woman who helped us out was very friendly.
