Malpasos Beach is a brief hike north from Sayulita. First along the main beach until it ends, then a hike through the jungle and down a steep slope. The beach is quite isolated and usually vacant. On the far end is a small resort and beyond is San Francisco, aka San Pancho to the locals. San Pancho deserves a page but I've no photos of the town, situated along a single main strip that terminates at the wide beach.

Heading Home to Sayulita
Malpasos is located about halfway between Sayulita and San Pancho. The rest of the area is extensive jungle vegetation.
On the way back from Malpasos Beach we stopped in at a beachside restaurant and had dinner. While we were waiting for the meal I spotted this hermit crab adamantly trekking up this wall, which was part of someone's table overlooking the ocean. Our dinner arrived and I never saw if he made it up, but he sure was determined to get up there. Perhaps he finishes off each patron's meal.
