Picturesque Hyde Park is a great place to relax. Our hotel was right around the corner and we passed Hyde Park often whilst coming to and fro.
Hyde Park is sandwiched between Carriage Drive, The Serpentine, and the more lavish Kensington Gardens, forming one side of a large green chunk of London comparable in area to Central Park in New York.

Liz in Hyde Park
During our visit to London the Queen was celebrating her Silver Jubilee and Hyde Park swelled with the festivities due to its relative proximity to Kensington Palace. At one point, on a huge screen in front of the palace, Her Majesty was giving a speech and the grounds were packed.
Despite and amidst the throng I managed to capture a few peaceful moments here. During our stay in London, all day long we walked, hopped busses or rode the tube. So returning in the evening we savored the brief respite from the city.
