Panoramic Views from St. Peter’s
A Pope’s-Eye View of Rome
After stumbling in awe through St. Peter's Basilica we climbed and emerged into the bright sunshine, blinking at the vast red roof around the dome. More climbing took us further up and into the tiny cupola. Suddenly the city spread around us. Unfortunately these images only capture a narrow corridor of vision, when in fact the experience was breath-takingly spectacular.
We had a great view of the Vatican gardens, main piazza and a radius of famous places. Also see pictures inside St. Peter's Basilica.
