|Series||Roaming in Rome|
In Rome we did a great deal of walking about and seeing the main architectural attractions. It was hot. We sweated, ate gelato and drank liters of water.

From St. Peter’s BasilicaView All Sizes
From the broad dome of St. Peter's are excellent panoramic views of Rome. The interior of the Basilica is just as breath-taking. We also poked through the numerous decorated rooms of the Sistine Chapel, ending up under Michelangelo's famous painting.
The Roman Forum is another great spot to cruise through. Remnants of grand historical events in vivid reality all around. Bones of long-dead buildings in the former central command center of a vast empire. Cool stuff indeed.
Modern Rome is far more complex than the Colosseum, Medieval papal lordship and the original Roman Empire. Please enjoy this limited photographic spectacle of a unique ancient city. These are typical tourist photos. On my next visit to Rome I will try to capture a fuller cultural representation.
